林洪玉秀 Yu-Hsiu Lin-Hung
素人藝術家，於麻豆出生，自小隨父親搬到高雄獅甲。年輕時曾幫家裡賣菜，因羨慕鄰居漂亮的衣服，而學習裁縫，後於鹽埕從事婚紗禮服製作。30 年前開始自學製作紙黏土娃娃，親手為娃娃編織衣帽，是過去少數接近藝術創作的經驗。從未想過以藝術創作為職業，直到人生與身體狀況發生變化，才意外開啟後來的創作道路。
A self-taught artist born in Madou, she moved to Shijia, Kaohsiung, with her father as a child. After helping her family sell vegetables, she learned sewing, inspired by a neighbor’s beautiful clothes, and later made wedding gowns in Yancheng. Thirty years ago, she taught herself to make paper-clay dolls, knitting their clothes and hats by hand. She never imagined becoming an artist until changes in her life and health unexpectedly opened a new path.
